I’m looking for good blog Ideas
I find it much easier to be creative when I’m not in a vaccume. It turns out that this is the case with the blog as well. Some of my best articles have come in response to questions that readers have raised. Somehow it feels more immediate and interesting if I’m writing in response to a specific request rather than working off my list of potential subjects.
Please do me a favor
If you like the blog or if you’ve found it useful suggest topics for me to write about. Obviously the topic should be about residential architecture, especially (although not exclusively) in the Pacific Northwest. You don’t need to be a potential client, and you don’t need a specific project. If there’s something you want to know about residential design or construction let me know. Product Showcase & Reviews
- If you’ve used a product yourself that you’re particularly pleased with
- If you produce or sell a product that you think my readers would be interested in
- If you wonder about the usefullness of a particular product
This is especially the case if you have photographs you’re willing to share or there is a website that I can link to. I’m looking for products that are produced here in the Pacific Northwest, or products that are too good to ignore no matter where they’re from. It needs to be really interesting if it’s not from around here.
Service Showcase & Reviews
- If you’ve used a particular service related to home design or construction that you think my readers would be interested in
- If you provide a related service here in the Puget Sound region that you think is relevant
Again, the service needs to be “web aware” which means it ought to have a website or a blog that I can link to. It also should be located here in the Pacific Northwest.
Project Showcase
- If you’ve remodeled your home, built a new outdoor living space or anything else along the lines of issues I’ve discussed here that you think would be interesting
- If you’re a contractor and have something related that you’re proud of
- If you’re a supplier or manufacturer that has a local installation that shows your product well
- If you’re a designer and have a great installation
I’m interested in projects that have good images and make a spring board for describing good characteristics of residential design.
Interviews
- If you know of someone who would be interesting to interview
- If you are someone who is interested in being interviewed
I’m especially interested in interviewing craftsmen with unique skills and knowledge, something that sets them apart from the typical. It would be best if they have a web presence and good images. It’s a visual medium and good visuals are helpful.
Student Questions
- If you’re a student considering a profession in architecture
- If you’re a teacher with questions about the profession
It’s part of the architect’s ethic to help young architects find their way into and succeed in the profession. It’s a mentor profession, we all had mentors we should all be willing to be mentors.
Guest Blogger
