About The Hungry Architect

This Blog has 2 distinct focuses - Resources for designing your home and The Mountaineers new facility at Magnuson Park.  The only connection between the two is that they both involve my professional life.  I get paid to design homes, the professional work for The Mountaineers I do as a volunteer.  The same professional training and experience goes into both.

Designing Homes

I have been designing homes for over 25 years.  As a registered architect I have been running my own practice in the Puget Sound area since 1992.  My practice consists primarily of the design of residential structures including both single family and multi-family homes.

I am a member of the American Institute of Architects and a Built Green member of the King County Master Builder’s Association.

My clients are primarily developers, builders and individual home owners.

The Mountaineers

For the last 4-1/2 years I have served as the Chair, first for the Building Advisory Committee and subsequently for the New Facility Construction Committee.  Those committees were charged with evaluating our old building, developing a set of recommendations and ultimately to take on the tasks necessary to move us to our new home in Magnuson Park.  We broke ground on the renovation of building 67 in February of 2008 and moved into our new clubhouse in November of 2008.

I was not the Architect of Record for the project but I did exercise my perogative to design some of the cool aesthetic elements of the new facility.
